As someone who is attempting to start golfing more, I hate it. I have come to the realization that it is simply the most aggravating sport. Don’t get me wrong if i was good at golf it would be very fun, however i have not reached that point yet. I used to hear people say they hated golf because it was “boring.” Golf is many things but I definitely do not find it boring.

So why is golf so insanely annoying? You can go from making a crazy one putt and feeling like its all coming together, to slicing your drive into the bush on the next hole. All the happiness from before goes away. It can cause a very damaged ego. Now you could think about it opposite. For example you could go from having a terrible hole where you three putted to then bombing your drive straight down the fairway. Realistically the game is trying to get a golf ball to land in a hole so I guess it wouldn’t be very interesting if it wasn’t extremely annoying sometimes.

If you’re ever thinking you should just quit after the first hole, you might want to remind yourself of Paul Lawrie. Paul turned pro in 1986 and played his first season in the European tour in 1992. He is known for his Ryder cup comebacks, including The Open Championship in 1999. Paul started the final round 10 shots behind the leader but shot a 67, eventually winning a four-hole play off against Justin Leonard and Jean Van de Velde. This is why the comeback is considered one of the best in major championship history. Therefore you can always make a comeback even if you don’t have the best start.
